Honey Lung. A band that seem to have taken over the adverts on most of my social media platforms. They are alternative indie rockers all the way from London and have just released a brand new single, Stuttering Mind. This massively contagious track has leaked into every musical pore ever since their success performing on the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds. Honey Lung are attracting all the right attention with several mentions on the airwaves from the likes of Huw Stephens and John Kennedy from BBC Radio 1 and Radio X. This high-profile interest has ensured that their musical profile is only rising further and further up.
The track itself is a work to behold. With its blend of shoegaze alternative vibes and wispy lyrics flowing all the way through the track. It has helped them conquer the musical ladder even more day by day, release by release. Honey Lung have managed to get their finely crafted guitar down to a t with their haunting harmonies adding to their blossoming live reputation as well. They conquered the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds this year along with many other festivals. This has lead them to go on a UK and European tour supporting Citizen next month which they are set to take full advantage of.
Comparing Stuttering Minds to their previous release Sophomore it really presents a big contrast. With influences like Are Friends Electric by Gary Newman coming to mind when you listen to it. Sophomore offers a unique and different take on the whole indie genre. With more rock n roll sounds playing ball within the track rather than more gentle and tame shoegaze. This mix of the two genres offers an insight into what these guys are about and what they want you to know about them as people and as a collective band. With this track you can clearly hear why they have such a good live reputation among the music industry right now.
